The founding Directors of Challenge Sustainability, Jon Woodhead,  Rob Pearson and Mark Line, each have extensive experience of sustainability consultancy for international organisations.  Challenge Sustainability has an established network of international companies and individual associate experts.

Jon Woodhead is a recognised expert in sustainability strategy, reporting and assurance, with over 25 years’ experience of sustainability and corporate responsibility management consulting. Jon’s recent clients include ArcelorMittal, Airbus, Avon Protection, VEON, Spirax Sarco Engineering, POSCO, Kobe Steel, WH Smith and ThyssenKrupp. He has worked at Board level with many of the above companies, advising on sustainability strategy development, reporting and integration with core business objectives.

After co-founding the consultancy CSR Network in 1999, Jon spent 10 years working with a range of multinational clients and other organisations on sustainability challenges.  In 2009, Jon became one of the four founding Directors of Two Tomorrows Group. In 2012, Two Tomorrows Group was acquired by DNV.  For DNV, Jon was responsible for P&L performance of teams of sustainability consultants across Northern Europe. Since leaving DNV at end 2017, Jon became co-founder of Challenge Sustainability. He continues to work on specific assurance engagements for DNV with customers including Arcelor Mittal, POSCO, Kobe Steel and ThyssenKrupp. For Challenge Sustainability, Jon is currently working with a range of international clients on sustainability strategy and reporting.

Rob Pearson has worked in corporate sustainability for over 15 years in both industry and consulting roles, with a particular focus on sustainability reporting and communications, strategy, stakeholder engagement, materiality and assurance. Rob has broad global experience across industry sectors that include Pulp and Paper, FMCG, retail, transportation and agriculture. His previous clients include Asia Pulp & Paper, Bacardi, Coca-Cola European Partners, Guardian News & Media, Heathrow Airport, JTI, LafargeHolcim, Morrissons, Reckitt Benckiser, UPM, WBCSD and WWF.  Prior to co-founding Challenge Sustainability, he worked as a Senior Consultant at DNV GL for five years, spent four years at the sustainability consultancy Two Tomorrows Group and five years at Stora Enso as a Sustainability Manager.

Mark Line is a Non Executive Director of Challenge Sustainability, renowned for his leadership work in corporate responsibility with over 30 years experience in sustainability advisory work.  Mark was co-founder of the AccountAbility Rating, published in FORTUNE Magazine, co-founder of the Tomorrows Value Rating, co-founder of CSR Network and Two Tomorrows Group, and was lead international advisor to UNDP on CSR.  In addition to his role for Challenge Sustainability, Mark acts as Board advisor to the consultancy Sancroft, and is Chair of the ERM CVS Impartiality Committee, which oversees independence and impartiality across their assurance work. His specialties include: CR and sustainability strategy, stakeholder dialogue, environmental management, sustainability reporting and communications, sustainability assurance.  His current clients include Airbus, Avon Protection, Spirent Communications and VEON.
